Dobrý den!

Well I made it to Prague without becoming the latest sequel to the 'Taken' saga, thankfully (although I think it would be ok if that meant Liam Neeson was coming to rescue me... he has a pretty majestic voice...)
But anyway, the Krsek family is very welcoming and their three daughters are so adorable. Anna is ten (she's almost exactly two months older than Chloë, which is fun), Magda is 8, and Barbara is 5. Their home is stunning. Hopefully I'll get more pictures eventually. Here's just a few I snagged with my phone:

The view from the kitchen. That's Prague over on the hillside.

The view from my bedroom (I was too lazy to raise the blinds, but you get the idea...)

My room.

This lovely little gem of a roommate. :) Viewer discretion is advised....

This is Barbara. We were out playing in the garden while her parents and her two older sisters went on a bike ride for the day. So far, it seems like Prague has a lot of snails. I'm trying hard not to remember what they felt like when we would step on them in our courtyard in India. I'll just have to think back on our days in Delhi and remember to look where I'm stepping... especially when barefoot.

Yesterday I went to Prague city with Nikola, a girl who has been working for the Krsek's on and off for the last little while. She took me around to the castle and the castle gardens. We got a traditional Czech lunch at a restaurant near her apartment and it was delicious. I never understand why people go on vacation or move to a foreign country, and then only eat at restaurants trying to make food from back home. First, it's generally disgusting (ever had a burger in India? Oh wait, you can't, because they don't eat beef there... and water buffalo is gross. Trust me...). Second, pretty sure the traditional food being made in these countries have been cooked for hundreds of years. If it really was disgusting, do you think they'd still be eating it? The only exception to this that I can think of are the hundred year eggs in China.... there is nothing you can say or do to convince me that an egg that has been rotting in the ground for one hundred years is actually going to taste delicious.
Getting back on track though, the food was delicious. Pork and potatoes with yummy sauces and such. The works. And it's cheap! A huge plate, bigger than the size of my head (and most certainly bigger than my stomach) for $6. (Including a bottle of 7up, which of course is one of the most expensive parts of the meal. Seriously, do people outside of America not like liquids? I don't understand why they make drinks, a vital part of human life, the most expensive thing one can purchase.
Nikola even helped me find the church and how to get there, which is great. I'll be honest when I say that I kind of made a deal with Heavenly Father about the whole thing: "I will go to church, if you can help me find out how to get there without getting lost in a foreign city with no one there to help me." Heavenly Father always comes through. It's pretty awesome. :)
Anyway, things are going well here so far. I think this is the beginning of a wonderful summer!
